Bringin’ the apples to Apple Fest

We chatted with our friends from Adrian Orchards this week and they’re all fired up to share their amazing apples and cider with everyone at Apple Fest on October 7th. We’re thrilled to invite them back and spread the word about a local business with a heart for giving back to the community.
So, mark your calendar now to join us for Apple Fest on Monument Circle on Thursday, October 7 from 10am-3pm. Applebee’s is donating freshly-grilled sandwiches and chips so all proceeds from lunch will benefit programs for homeless and abused women and children. And bring a few extra bucks for some apples, because they’re seriously good!
Got a business or organization you’re looking to promote – how ’bout a booth at Apple Fest? Just $50 to reach about 1,000 lunchgoers with your message. Call Kristen at 224-1019 to learn more.

Plan now to make a difference in May
We Americans like to do our part – from recycling to volunteering, we try to pitch in and help out in our communities. National Salvation Army week (the week of May 10th) is a perfect opportunity to focus your efforts on making a difference right here in Central Indiana.
During his presidency, Dwight D. Eisenhower stated, “Among Americans, The Salvation Army has long been a symbol of wholehearted dedication to the cause of brotherhood. In time of war, the men and women of this organization have brought to those serving their country far from home, friendliness and warm concern. In the quieter days of peace, their work has been a constant reminder to us all that each of us is neighbor and kin to all Americans, giving freely of themselves, the men and women of The Salvation Army have won the respect of all.”
The week of November 18 – December 4, 1954 was declared by the United Stated Congress and proclaimed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to be the first National Salvation Army Week. Today, the dates have changed, but the work of The Salvation Army that was recognized has not – to serve those in need without discrimination.
So, in celebration of this special week in May, we’ve come up with some tangible ways to get your employees involved in “doing the most good.” Read more
Thanks to Noodles (and those who ate them)

Noodles Manager Brett Suthers takes an order during the March 12 Dine to Donate Day.
We asked you to come and use your lunch/dinner dollars to help us continue “doing the most good” and you did just that! The Noodles & Company on 86th Street tells us sales totaled over $1,300 from folks who mentioned us. Factor in a couple of t-shirts sold and some donations in the kettle, and we raised about $450 for our programs that serve the homeless and abused!
We’re looking forward to more events like these planned for National Salvation Army week, May 10-16. If your business would like to participate in the paper kettle campaign or a percent of sales/Dine to Donate day, give Kristen a call at 224-1019.
Dine to Donate for homelessness on 3/12

The Noodles & Company at 3450 W. 86th (near 86th and Michigan at the Pyramids) will be hosting a Dine to Donate day for our Homelessness Bites campaign all day next Friday, March 12 from 11am – 8pm. If you live or work in the area, this is a great opportunity to have a meal with purpose.
This Noodles location will be donating 25% of the proceeds from meals purchased for dine in or carry out that day when you mention The Salvation Army or Homelessness Bites. It’s an easy, practical way to help your neighbors who are struggling from the economic downturn or who are fleeing domestic violence situations.
Let us know if you’re coming. We’d love to see you at lunch. To learn more about how you can help The Salvation Army continue “doing the most good” visit www.salvationarmyindiana.org.
