Mobile Home

I’m usually in such a rush to make it to work on time that I barely notice anything but my fellow commuters. But this morning, the red light caught me at Delaware just before the I-65 overpass. As I sat there listening to Jim, Deb and Kevin laugh with Hazel on WFMS, I noticed it.
There under the overpass was a mobile home. Not a trailer, but a make-shift “home” of a piece of cardboard box surrounded by a couple of shopping carts. The contents of the carts spoke for themselves – one had a couple of toys in it. Suddenly, those carts didn’t represent a social issue, those carts might be some kid’s house!
This “mobile home” is the reason that we’re hosting the Red Shield Rally on July 12. Go-kart racing and rc cars are fun for those of us participating, but they serve a larger purpose that day. We’re really hoping that you share in our passion to help our 15,000 homeless neighbors. If your company is looking for a way to really make a difference in our city, check out our campaign to end homelessness in Indy and sign up to partner with us for the Red Shield Rally. 4,500 kids will be glad you did.
