What does The Salvation Army do?

We serve our community through social services across the world, and right here in Indianapolis.

 In 2008, through the support of our partners, The Salvation Army…

    – served 66,392 people by providing shelter and care

    – provided 192,937 meals

    – gave winter coats to more than 4,000 kids through Coats for Kids

    – played Santa to 1,795 kids through our annual Toy Shop

    – assisted 1,286 people struggling with substance abuse

    – sent 546 at-risk youth to summer camp

    – shipped 6,957 care packages to our troops

    - provided $2.5 million in assistance and over 10,000 meals and 4,000 flood kits to Indiana flood victims
